Cetti's Warbler
Cettia cetti

Cetti's warbler is a small, brown warbler in the family Cettiidae, which breeds in southern and western Europe, northwest Africa and the east Palearctic as far as Afghanistan and northwest Pakistan. The sexes are alike. The bird is named after the 18th-century Italian zoologist, Francesco Cetti. This species is often difficult to see because of its skulking habits. Source

Movement and weather
Each season it is first heard regularly where daytime highs are around 23°C (typically 16 to 30°C, from 14 areas). That range is wide, so temperature alone does not explain when it turns up.
Over the weeks it was present in the past year, its centre in Europe ranged from 40°N in March to 48°N in April, about 900 km apart.
Arrival dates
The week it was first heard regularly in each region, after at least six weeks away. Dates differ from south to north, so a region has a range.
| Region | First arrival | Last arrival | Typical peak | Areas |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Europe | 17 November 2025 | 7 September 2026 | 31 August 2026 | 13 |
| Africa | 30 March 2026 | 30 March 2026 | 20 April 2026 | 1 |
